Simple Height improvement exercises

The height of a person is genetically decided. There aren’t many methods that give good results when it comes to height improvement. However, there are a few exercises that show good results. Practise these exercises daily and see your height improving by 2-3 inches in an year. This article will help you with some easy exercises that will do wonders to your height:

1. Yoga and meditation: It might not have been proven clinically, but experts guarantee that regular Yoga sessions can increase your height by 2-3 inches in an year. The simple logic behind is the stretching and strengthening of the spinal cord caused by practising these asanas. This in turn stimulates growth and improves flexibility of your muscles. Check out your local websites for a Yoga center near your home. You may even rent out a DVD by renowned instructors such as Patricia Walden or Rodney Yee and practise these ‘asanas’ at home. Tremendous results have been shown by poses such as the ‘Adho Mukha Svanasana’ , or more commonly known as the downward facing dog. These poses stretch out your entire spinal cord and trigger muscle and bone growth.

How to do it: The best way to do Yoga, is on a mat or a Yoga mattress to avoid any kind of injury. Now with both your feet apart at hip wide distance and your palms place at shoulder length distance, stretch your legs. With your palms firm on the ground, stretch your legs back slowly so that they are completely straight. Ensure that there is no bent in your knees. With the pose maintained for a couple of minutes, feel the stretching in your spine. Keep repeating the same asana for 4-5 minutes and then take rest. This pose should be repeated regularly, preferably in the morning after a light meal, for best results.

2. Inversion beds and boots: This unconventional method of increasing your height has shown really good results and has proven to be a hit amongst the youth. Inversion bed or an inversion boots use the effects of gravity to strengthen and stretch the spine. The feet are firmly strapped and hands are raised in an inversion bed. Next, turn upside down so that your head falls near your chest. The boots are similar in principle to the bed, but the boots can even be hooked to a bar in the doorway. Known to cause nausea and dizziness, this method is discouraged by doctors.

3. Vertical handstands: Using the principle of gravity, this method is quite a hit amongst Yogis and gymnasts. A hand stand creates a similar traction in your spine and stimulates height enhancement.

How to do it: take support of a wall and place both palms on the floor. Raise your feet in the air, keeping both arms at shoulder distance. You may take help of a friend to keep you in this pose. Hold the pose for a few minutes before resting.
